I have an intermittent fault with my computer. At its worst, the screen refreshes in three distinct vertical sections at different rates. This also happens when scrolling up or down a page of text. I am thinking of replacing the tower but it has been suggested to me that the problem may be due to a shortage of memory. Does anyone else think this might be the case. I am running Windows XP Home Edition on 256mb RAM.
If this is a possibility, would it be a straight forward task for me to install either a bigger memory board or even add an additional board. Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer me suggestions.
