Sort of wish there was a general hardware topic forum (for the few questions) as I am about to build my first gaming comp in my price range and anyways... which would fit me better?
MSI K8N Neo Platinum or ASUS K8N-E Deluxe both at Socket 754
I'm leaning more towards the Asus for some reason but can't figure out why. I'll be adding the following to it. Speak your mind, it won't hurt me... just looking for a gaming comp as my laptop FPS is horrible.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Motherboard: probably the Asus one above
PSU: Ultra X-Connect 500w
Sound Card: Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition - already purchased at an amazing price
Case: Antec Super Lanboy... may change... I have silly ideas in my head
HDD: WD Caviar 160GB 7,200 RPM SATA
HDD: WD Raptor 36.7GB 10,000 RPM 8M Cache SATA 150
RAM: not sure... I'm a Crucial fan but after reading I might go Corsair... either way each and every slot will be receiving a 512
Video Card: Undecided... clearly an 8x AGP... either 128 or 256... it will be an nVIDIA GeForce... probably be the last thing I buy
Another question, an SATA 150 hooked up to an SATA 133 will just run slower correct?
Also to clarify for myself, the Raptor drive will be master with OS and the Caviar would be slave with all the other crap correct?
TIA
