i built this comp at april and now i need to burn something for my dad it did work before so i really didn't care but im in a hurry now

can you guys help what may be the possible error?

I don't know, exactly, but the DVD works differently than the CDROM portion. I would have to guess that the drive is cooked. It is possible for one to work but not the other.

Ok, well you didn't tell me that. However, was it a fresh install of Windows and it never worked right off the bat? Did it work for a while and then quit? Give me a few more details if you would. If it didn't work right off the bat then try different cables, even plugging it in with the primary although I can't imagine why that would do anything. Try reinstalling Windows. Maybe something screwed up.

If it stopped working afterwards, I would lean towards the drive.

It doesn't read any DVD media in the drive? When you go to Start > Run > compmgmt.msc can you see the media in the drive? Anything?

More details.

oh umm when i install both cdrw and dvd drive both drivers wont work
but when i take out my cdrw the dvd drives works again..

Are the drivers you are using OEM drivers? Or are they the Microsoft drivers? If they are not the Microsoft drivers, uninstall both of them and let Microsoft do it's own thing. All your hardware are belong to them.

If it is the Microsoft drivers... let me know.
