My computer build

Look at the pins in good detail, check none of the clips are bent and all of the pins are rotated back so they are not going to release straight away.

P182 looks better than I thought :)

Yeah, I'm thrilled with it. So glad I chose it over the Antec 900, just because it's so classy and sleek looking. I think I'd get tired of looking at the side window and blue LEDs of the 900 after a while. I expect the P182 to last me a long time.

No, it wasn't an issue of not fitting. Size-wise, it fit perfectly. I just couldn't get the thing snapped in place properly. It could easily have been my own fault, even though I followed all the directions.

The stock cooler used the same method (pins) and I got it installed in seconds. That was after spending two days messing around with the F7 Pro, so maybe I just got better at it. :)

Last time, I upgrade my PC with freezer 7 pro, I end up with cutting my hand as the edge of my case too sharp:(
At the end, I need to un-screw and un-plug my motherboard to do so... supposingly a 30 min job become 2.5hr...

Yeah, from my experience, I would say it's very smart (and maybe even necessary) to remove the motherboard before installing this particular HSF.

Awesome. ;)

Nice motherboard. :P

EDIT: The only thing I don't like about the mobo is the placement of the HD Audio pins.

Yeah, good point. It's the only connection that requires a cable to extend into the main area of the case. Everything else is clear of the motherboard.

Think about purchasing another internal hard drive or external hard drive for backups. :)

I do have a little external 60GB HD that I use to back up small stuff, like program configurations, music, stuff like that. Nothing too big though.

I also started to wonder why I didn't just go ahead and get a second DVD drive as well. I'll see how it goes as it is, I know I don't really *need* another one, since I hardly use CDs or DVDs. Just for games mostly.

Sure, that'll work. It's good to backup your entire C: partition. If you have any severe problems, you can simply restore the image without having to reinstall Windows and all your programs, games, etc. I use Norton Ghost, but I understand Acronis is good and it's $30 cheaper, I believe.

Ah, you just reminded me I forgot to backup my Oblivion save files! I better hope nothing bad happens between now and when I get home! :)

ha ha. It's just a good precaution to take. That's all. I should have stated, "in the rare event you have severe problems..." :P

I'm obsessive about backing up game saves, especially a game like Oblivion that I plan to play for months. To lose all that would be.....disheartening, to say the least.

good stuff
how much did it cost you at the end?

Well, originally I had said $1800, but I think it ended up being more. I still haven't added it all up, but lets' see, my bills were:

$950
$300
$650
$280
$90
$35
$40
------
$2345 (ouch!)

And that doesn't include tax, but it does include shipping. :( Geez, I didn't even realize it was that much until just now. Good thing I was under the impression that I was spending a lot less!

I have about $150 in MIRs I'm expecting though.
