My laptop.

HP and alienware are to expensive.
Dell seems to be fine with me, but i guess i want the better vista then what there supplying...

Any other brands?

Vista Premium is $200+ by itself.
Good luck trying to find a good $400 laptop to go with it, and that will run it.

Yeah.
But now i am set on a windows based laptop.
Can I do with the vista that dell comes with, wait till I upgrade the ram and stuff, then get the premium?

Why is dell giving me a free vista OS, when its not well with laptops.

Every laptop that you see at stores like Best Buy, or Circuit City have Vista pre-installed. Very rarely will you find a new laptop with XP.

Alright.
I think I can live with the basic vista for a while.

Thanks

I am still open for suggestions and tips.

But, is that 1501 good. Ill be ordering that, soon, unless plans change.

I uped my purchase to within the $1000.
Nothing like 1200 or anything. like under ... $1150

Enjoy.

I got the e1505 customized to like $950.

Then, a 14'' wide screen alienware. With vista home premium, with 2gigs or ram. Alienware® Intel® 945GM + ICH7 Chipset ... good?

The E1505 is a nice notebook, but what do you want to do with it? If you want to game on it, I don't think the e1505 would be a good choice. Now I don't know how you customized it from what little I did, you could do little customization wise for under 1000 dollars.

You can not find any new laptops with XP installed on them, I've tried for several months with the G1, and I talked with Xotic PC a few weeks back and they just shipped the last new one with XP loaded. So its Vista from here on out.

This is just my opinion, but perhaps you should have waited and saved up maybe 500-600 dollars and bought a

I really like that one, for the price and what you get its tough to beat.

However if all you want to do is fool around with it, then that was a fine choice, enjoy your new lappy :D

AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML34 1.8GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache

Thats the one.

Iam skeptical. Casue i love the 7900gs, and the webcam it has.

But the 1gb ram with home premium, wont i be laggy?

my other option is the 17'' area-51 for 1300
which has c2d and ATI Mobility™ Radeon® X1900

I only wanna play css lol.
But want to play it with no lag and stuff.

But ill have no webcam =/

Then I can build a dell 1705 with nvidia 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS for like 1400

You can get an Inspiron E1705 with a Core 2 Duo and a 7900GS for well under $2000, even for under $1500.

You can customize them fully, but you can choose a Core 2 Duo up to 2.33Ghz I believe, up to 4GB of DDR2-667, up to a 100/120Gb 7200RPM Hard Drive, 7900GS, and a 17" glossy screen @ 1920x1080.

Dell or Alienware? or other.

depends on what you want, i dont trust dell or alienware customer support, and bothbreak easy. alienware is good equipment, but you really pay for a pretty case. i buy power, ibuypower.com i dont know alien ware prices exactly, just know they are bad, this is like them, hopfully cheaper hope it helps, if its not cheaer, then alien ware is cheaper than i thought.
