Need Hard Drive Upgrade, Help!

Also, when I booted up, the 'found new hardware' box in my toolbar appeared.. but the drive doesn't appear in My Computer..
Thanks in advance for the help.

Start-Control Panel-Administrative Tools- Computer Management-Click on Disk Management on the lower left- then right click on the new drive on the lower right and partition and format it and then it will show up in My Computer.

PSU = power supply unit, just so you know.

It sounds like you plugged everything in correctly. Just in case, here's how you do it: You need a plug from the power supply -- either Molex or SATA -- that goes into the back of the hard drive. Use one or the other; don't use both. Then, plug your SATA data cable into the back of the drive and into the motherboard.

Once you confirm everything is plugged in correctly, boot into the BIOS and see if the drive is recognized.

Guess that was a waste of time.

No lol, I had just plugged everything in correctly myself.. all I needed was advice on formatting the thing.
