Need info on max processor

The Celeron D is already dual core. To be honest im not sure you could get a faster processor on that motherboard.

If it's an LGA775 socket then his motherboard will take Cure 2 Duo's, those are much faster than any Celeron D.

No, not all LGA775 motherboards take Core 2 Duos.

yes, but i need the celeron to get the speed i want as if i used another processor, the max speed the board will take is below 3.0

Why get celerons if you want a fast computer? Celerons are budget line CPUs, I'm guessing that the best CPU you can get is one of the Pentium D's, as I doubt you can run Core 2 Duo on it.

The Celeron has never and never will be Dual-Core, It is a 775 socket, and it is a 2.53Ghz Celeron D 326. You might be better off with a Pentium D. There is a limited speed, Front Side Bus. It doesn't do a dadgum bit of good to have a 3.6Ghz Processor(e.g) and have it knocked down to 533Mhz Front Side Bus. It would also be very useless to have a Core 2 Duo, those were targeted toward overclockers, so says my Intel insider. Obviously, you have no OC capability, I would just save money and build another, sorry, but that is my opinion.
Guys, I had to figure it out the hard way, Dell and other computer manufacturers screw you over badly. I have looked at this and found it to be true. They will get your processor and put it on a motherboard that supports your chosen processor as a maximum(not in speed). Example: I order a Core 2 Duo, they give me a board that will not support a Core 2 Extreme, do you see that? I build and leave room for the future, the businesses I "advise" do not like that $100 increase but, it benefits them in the long run. I am running a DG965WH right now with a Pentium 4HT 3.2Ghz, I definitely have room for an E6600(not OC'able). Think about this guys.
