I am building a new PC using i5. So far i came up with these parts, please take a look and let me know if any part can be replaced for about the same price with one that has better value. I am planing to run win7 64bit on this one.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215&cm_re=i5_750_processor-_-19-115-215-_-Product

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131405&cm_re=asus_p55_pro-_-13-131-405-_-Product

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018&cm_re=700w_ocz-_-17-341-018-_-Product

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227478&cm_re=ocz_platinum_4gb_%282_x_2gb%29_240-pin_ddr3_sdram_ddr3-_-20-227-478-_-Product

HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148395&Tpk=Seagate%20Barracuda

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119202&cm_re=coolermaster_case-_-11-119-202-_-Product

GPU: this one either gonna be 9800gtx+ or hd5770.

I am planning to crossfire or sli in the future, depends on the cards.
And the case looks sexy to me ^_^(black and red, :D yeah). So please help me review the compatibility between these components, hopefully everything will be fine.

Thanks guys.

yeah i would go with the hd 5770. are you looking to go with a cheaper case or are you willing to spend more? i would really advise you to get with better airflow, not just 2 fans.

Iirc, OCZ fails at DDR3 RAM although their DDR2 RAM was quite good.

Check this out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...277&cm_re=ripjaws_1600-_-20-231-277-_-Product

And get the 5770 > 9800 GTX+,

What about a CD/DVD Drive?

CD/DVD is not that hard on the budget so i didn't mention. Gskill is good though.

For the case, I dont know where i can get one that cheaper and as good looking as this one.

PS. I wonder if i should go with 2gb gskill (2x1gb) to cut the cost because i can get the above ocz for around $80 and the 4gb gskill is almost $110

Good set up. You need an optical drive.

If you can swing it get 1 5850 over 2 5770 in CF.

If you do that just get the Corair 650tx. It is a single rail PSU and the same price, but it is not modular. If you will go CF for sure that PSU is fine, and it would work for your system. If you want to stick to OCZ the Fatality is single rail, but it has an led fan. A single rail is nice because you can pull all of the power if needed on one rail to the system. On a multi rail you may not be able to get all of your power out since all rails may not be used, like with a single card.

that case is just terrible. you need more than 1 120mm fan for a gaming comp. get the antec 300 which is only 10 dollars more and has 2 or 3 fans.

you should get one that has around 3-4 fans, one or two being front intake and one or two being back exhaust, and then maybe a side fan. i wouldn't recommend getting a case without at least one front fan. if you are gaming then you want good airflow. there are plenty of cases that looks way better than that if you are worried about looks. what is your budget for the case?

If you are not planning to run any hardcore video games or memory hungry software the system will run fine with only 2 gigabytes of RAM. You can always buy more memory later.

I agree with what the previous person said about OCZ DDR3 memory. It is not good quality so avoid it.

The following brands make good quality DDR3 memory:

Corsair
Crucial
G.Skill
Kingston
Mushkin
Patriot
PNY
pqi
Super Talent

I have had nothing but great experiences with DDR and DDR2 Super Talent brand memory. I've bought around 6 different modules of Super Talent RAM and it's been great. What motherboard brand were you having issues with it regarding?

The memory had no issues in Foxconn, MSI, or Gigabyte motherboards that I have used it in.
