But will these cpu's be backwards compatible with my older am2 board?
I know they are ddr3 so does that mean i have to upgrade my mobo and such?

As long as your board has a bios update that allows them then you are good to go;)And better yet, Amd is finally comming back ahead like they were when intel was in the pentium 4 days:good: Gotta love backward compatibility...(Thanks i7 for changing sockets:mad:)

I think 250 cpu is for am3 socket and not for am+.
Anyway i think now we will see low cost am3 motherboards.
Now i don t think you can find am3 motherboard under $200.

AM3 processors will run on AM2+ boards if they have a bios update. Its the other way around AM2+ processors will not fit a AM3 board. Plus there alot of AM3 boards for under 200 bucks.

Cool, looks like theres hope for my current mobo, hopefully they have a bois update :), the last update they had was for the 7750.:(

Hate to blow your bubble, but there is not any 45nm. Phenom II CPU support for your board.

There is suppost to be a AM3 Phenom II X2 45nm. with the full 6mb. of L3 and a AM3 Athlon II X2 45nm. with no L3.

AM3 boards for under 200 bucks.
