umm yea except that i dont know how to really, and this is my first build... and yea gaming. a pentium D is Dual core right??? and will these and 1 g of ram get me BF2 on max???
AMD X2 3800+ $100 Sapphire X1950Pro $145 after MIR Abit KN9S $60 after MIR
Total: $305. If you want to stay under the $300 (or have a PSU that would be questionable with an X1900), switch the GPU to an eVGA 7900GS ($135).
At this pricerange I feel you get a little more out of the AMD X2 than a Pentium D, particularly if it's for gaming. The combo you proposed is another good one. I'd be inclined to spend a little more on the GPU and downgrade the CPU to a 3800+ for the sake of balance, though.
great build!!!!!! im loving it and what cases do you guys recomend? i didnt put that in the budget because i dont know if ill use my original case but if i dont, which ones do you recomend??? what type of power supply do you guys think this will need??? 500W??? i found this one check it out
Apevia PSUs aren't very good, I'd avoid that included one. The official recommendation for an X1950Pro is at least 450W with at least +12V@30A. The recommendation for a 7900GS is a far more lenient 400W with +12V@20A.
