New Computer - Thanks For Everyones Help

Probably has more to do with CPUz not reading it right. Should be Socket AM3 (938). CPUz calls mine a AM2+ and (940) too.

Yeah it seems your right, I downloaded CPUz afresh and it got this:
Cpuz1.jpg

Still not showing AM3 though, but if yours isnt too I feel a bit better about it lol.

As you can see, Im running a defrag.. Did one last night that said the C: was 28% fragmented.. which is odd for a fresh install I think... Then when it was finished it was still saying 19% fragmentedd... So im running again lol.

Fresh install is always fragmented from what ive seen, the first thing i do is defrag after installing an os

So.... Low and behold it seems the defrag made it work. PC Mark 05 finished all the tests..... Funny thing is though a lower a score..

My old computer scored: 6259
The new rig scored: 3714

Wonder what that means?? It does seem my HDD is on the way out grrrrr.

Have you done the hard drive speedup things for windows 7/vista? Another thing you may wanna try is swapping sata cable.

Well Im on Windows 7 now. Just did a HDD PC Mark 05 test scored: 4774... Better but still well below.

Ok Ill try that stuff.

Its seems to be enabled in Windows 7.

But Im sure it wasnt in Vista.. Will check later.

Lol by the way forgot to mention this before.. The test scores above is just the HDD part haha... Im scoring way more than that overall lol.

Just cleared up the cables abit and tried a new sata cable lol... Increased the score on Win 7 to 4993...

Got 5041 in Vista now, by enabling the max performace (which says is for drives with backup power, which mine doesnt)

Still 1200 below my old rigs score for HDD.
