I just built my first computer. Everything seems to be up and running, however, the PC does not detect my video card.
Build:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black
Mobo: ASRock 870 Extreme3
RAM: GSkill 8GB ram (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333
PSU: Coller Master 600W
VPU: Radeon HD 6850 (AX6850-1GBD5-DH R)
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
VPU is installed in the PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE4). Power is making it to the VPU (I feel the fan turning). I also downloaded the installation file from the disc. However, the computer says it is only detecting the standard Mobo video chip. I tried searching for Hardware and that didn't work. Checked BIOS and that didn't work either.
Is there anything I can do to try to get it to detect the VPU? Or is it most likely it's a bad card and need to get another one? As I mentioned, this is my first build so my terminology and technical ability is fairly layman. Any help would be great, thanks!
