My friend and I have been in the process of creating a new computer. All parts were ordered from Newegg and I'm having issues getting to a boot screen.
MB Asus Striker II Formula
VGA EVGA 9800GX2 RT
PSU Corsair - 750TX 750W RT
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 3GHz 6MB L2 Cashe, 1333 MHz FSB
When I first tried to power up the computer the LEDs would come on. When the power button was pushed nothing would happen. No fans or sounds. So we took everything out one by one removing the power cord each time until we finally removed the video card. Turns out one of the cords was connected incorrectly to the video card. So I plugged it in correctly and the fans actually started spinning. No picture on the monitor however.
I tried plugging the video card into all the PCI-E slots and tried putting the monitor into both connectors on the back of the VC. So wonderful I have a busted video card so I sent it back. I picked up another from Best Buy:
GeForce 8800 GT
Plugged this in and had the same problem. This time I checked and the fan is spinning on the video card. So did I send back a perfectly good video card with a busted Motherboard?
Thank you for reading and I thank you in advance for any response.
