New cpu,mobo,ram w/ old hdd

Well i have 2 partitions .partition 1: system reserved(100mb).partition 2: primary,main hdd with files on (500gb)..delete both?thanks

Yeah just delete all of them. Windows will most likely create a system reserved partition when you set it up anyway so you'll end up with pretty much the same thing.

ok now it says drive 0 unallocated space 465 gb(500gb),whcih is my main drive.select that and click next? im just trying to make sure im doing everything correct sorry,or do i choose new?

i just chose my drive and clicked next.its installing now

The usable space on a hard drive is always smaller than what it's advertised as, so don't worry about it not being a full 500GB. Most 1TB hard drives I see have 931GB of actual usable space.

True, but your usable space is less than your advertised space because of how it's counted.

Eh it's more of an overlay than anything. Same reason you rate bits on a network connection instead of bytes.
