New PC setup

I've had a different experience with those boards. In my area the Asus boards last forever and gigabyte doesn't stand out as being exceptionally reliable.

Also your avatar both makes me hungry and frightens me in a disturbing childhood memories kind of way. Delicious.

Sweeping statement. Not everybody who has Ultimate pirated it. I have a copy of it somewhere which was bought from TechNet, I just choose to have Pro on my PC at the moment.

Yeah, I know. Thats why I said usually. And most people I have come across with ultimate have pirated it.

Stuff happens of course. My asus board is just fine, and so is my friends gigabyte. It is the RMA that gets me. Asus has a awful board RMA service.

Agreed. I have used Ultimate in the past and it was not pirated. I also am about to install Vista Ultimate on my machine. It is not pirates. I use it because I can turn it to my language and not have to think so hard about it when I use my computer. Note: XP pro could do the same thing out of the box. Wish all versions of vista and 7 could.

Yeah it's probably true that Ultimate is the most pirated edition of 7, but that doesn't mean that everybody who has it pirated it.

As for Asus boards, I've had 3 personally and used many more and they've all been fine. Only issue I had was when one of them died after about 5 or 6 years of use, but the board was from 2004 or 2005, so it was older anyway.
