Naa, if not the Raptor, I'd go WD - green or blue with 8.5 response. Not 9.5!

It's a good thing noting I plan on this lasting me 6+ years, through college and Uni!

id go with the phenom II x4 if your worried about budget, but if your willing to spend the money id agree that you should look at getting a set up for the i-7. and if your a casual gamer go ahead and save yourself some money and get a larger harddrive with lower rpms, not to mention the 10000 rpm hdd's have a bad rep for burning up after a while of prolonged use. and why a 4870

heres a gpu thats about 35 pounds more but will blow that 4870 out of the water and its still xfx.
also the gigabyte mobo tha daisymtc listed is a good board.

OK, I updated my list. And no, I'm not the 'casual' gamer. I expect to run Crysis at least low res!
I'll just check out the GPU and decide.

the 5770 is a budget dx11 gpu, the 4890 beats the 5770 in nearly all bench marks and the 4870 beats it in some!

the 5770 is like the 4870 but with dx11 support (in performance) but the 4890 is better

all in all the 5770 would be the better buy as its newer tech but it wont smash the 4870 like you would think
