I started thinking about getting a new computer as my current one isn't really up to par, and I ain't too picky about performance as long as it works.
The thing is I have mostly new parts in my computer which I can use in the new computer, all parts except CPU, RAM, mobo.
One requirement though is that the motherboard has 1 PCI-E 16x and 1 AGP8X slot, cause I ain't gonna have the money to buy a new GPU and the current one is the only decent thing I have, so the X800GTO's staying. For a while...
The stores I can use are, both links are in english.
Multitronic
Digicomp
I've done a bit of research and it seems like motherboards based on the ULi AP9507A (M1695/M1567) chipset, are the only ones with fully functioning PCI-E 16X and AGP8X. The only mobo with that chipset which can be found at Multitronic is the ASROCK S939 M1695 8CH SATA2 RAID PCI-E16.
But I've heard people talk trash about ASROCK motherboards, so I ain't too sure about getting one. Anyway, here's a list of parts I was thinking about getting.
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3800+ S939 BOX
ASROCK S939 M1695 8CH SATA2 RAID PCI-E16
Kingston 2GB PC3200 DDR NON-ECC CL3 DIMM KIT (to use in Dual Channel)
The ideal budget would be below 600€. And I know the current prices here are very high, but that's the "beauty" of my plan. I intend to buy a few months after AM2 is released, as the prices on older technology is going to go down. I'm gonna try to get a summerjob so that I can get a part of the money I'm gonna use and then the rest from my savings.
Feel free to suggest other parts, instead of the ones I have listed etc. And I also need a new case.
WHEN LINKING TO A PRODUCT THAT'S AT MULTITRONIC, OPEN THE PRODUCT IN A TAB/WINDOW OF IT'S OWN FROM THE LISTS WITH THE PARTS, OTHERWISE THE LINK TO THE PART MIGHT NOT SHOW UP!
