Interesting that you got by on your ten year old system. Mine's 6 years old (i5-3570) I've built in 2012 and going strong but using past years technology instead of cutting edge. Saves lots of cash and not hurting in the process for computing.
I also have an i3 system that I have parts to keep the i5 going for years to come. Motherboard, CPUs and memory for sure.
It'd be nice to built a completely new system for years to come. My budget won't cut it.
