Hello all! I am new here. Let me make this brief, because I'll post an introduction later. I'm a poor poor individual. (Being a husband, and father at 21 will do that to you, BUT I love my daughter and wife, and having my own family was really the only thing I wanted in life). SO.....our tax Refund is coming in soon (god this is turning out horrible, but I swear I'm not retarded).
I'm a gamer, have been for a long time. Tabletop, Video Games, Card Games, Board Games. I don't remember getting the NES. I don't remember getting the atari. I simply remember gaming, my first game being Castlevania for NES. So I've been doing this since before I can even remember. I love computers, and I love tinkering with them. I thought about building a desktop, but I have no place to put it. I recieved an Asus 1005-A Netbook years ago for free, and it's old, janky, busted, and old. Mostly old. It's been dropped and kicked so many times (because my child climbs on EVERYTHING, ceiling included, don't ask) and my wife who tries to save it, usually finds it a temporary safe spot until something happens to it again. Usually it's me that knocks it over while trying to find it. So I'm looking for a gaming laptop (wait for it).......that's under $1000. Preferably in the $600-$700 range (proceed with laughter). The problem is, I used to know LOTS about computers, but they became so advanced so quick, that I couldn't keep up. So I've been browsing, and I've found two products that I think I like, but I need help rating them. If anybody could be so kind as to help, I would be so greatful.
Samsung Series 3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131392
Asus K series: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...1305962895.p?id=mp1305962895&skuId=1305962895
They both have the i7 processor which I wanted in the bundle. The only difference that I've noticed is that the Samsung series 3 has a 2GB graphics card in it, and if I'm not mistaken, it ranks higher than the 1G in the Asus as far as clock speeds are concerned (I think, I looked it up, but I could be wrong). Could a good computer guru guide me on my quest. I know that price range isn't much to work with, but honestly, I don't need the highest end graphics during my games. That would be awesome yes, but I don't NEED it. I just need something I can enjoy. And I believe something along the lines of those 2 systems could do it. Slap me if I'm wrong (wince).
