You've got genuine experience with both companies products I assume.

well... erm... i had a ATI rage 128.. and now im using a Geforce 6800GT... i like the Geforce better :P

they both have excellent graphics, i actually think you get better performance for the price with ATI, since i got my 9600XT for under $100, and it plays the games at high-highest settings, and you can raelly get a nvidia card like that in that price range, the closest to that is the 6600GT.

Who knows... maybe the next ATI card will beat the 7800GTX by a landslide!

maybe, maybe not. and who knows. perhaps the next geforce will be stronger as the best ATI card at that moment.. (and so on and so on )

maybe there is even 1 big company behind those 2 names. (yea.. you can never know ;) )

Like I said before, I like ATI better cuz you get more bang for your buck. My X700 retails for around $150-$180 and it runs games on all really high, good luck finding a PCI-E Nvidia that can do the same in that price range (the closest is the 6600GT- if that is even for PCI-E i don't know.....)

how about 6600?

Also note that the X700 is a scrapped product ;)

I rest my case :)

ATI seems like alot more bang for your buck but now with this new SLI technology for the geforce with the new nforce 4 it seems like nvidia is making the wise move, nothing ATI has out currently could beat 2 high end nvidia cards on one board with SLI technology if i am understanding this technology correctly, if I am misled give me a heads up.

it depends at what... SLI doesnt give u a 2x performance boost. The performance boost is only actualy scene with real high res. But nvidia IS ontop atm because they have released their next gen gpu (the 7800), while ati has yet to release theirs (which will prolly top the nvidia) just a endless cycle.

The thing is, the r520 is more than a month later in release and so nvidia has even more time to develop their next generation, sure it's an endless cycle but the earlier a product is released (assuming it works as advertised) will sell better.

Nvidia...

I would choose nVidia if you wanted to game and use Photoshop or CADD, but if you want to render, then get a really powerful ATI card. Nvidia has SLi which can double your performance too, so think about that...

It is NOWHERE NEAR doubling your performance

They are coming out with a system where you can have 3 gfx cards! :o

i have been a loyal nVidia customer for years and haven't ever had any problem, thus, i will more then likely get another nVidia card when the time comes.

yea and totaly slow down ur system with all the overhead that would create...

not even think about the power requiterements, and the heat :S
i dont think they will release something like that,.. i mean.. can you imagine someone who buys lets say 3 7800GTX's.. just to have to much power unused? :P

thats why i like AMD :P

but im happy as long as it runns. i dont even want the top-of-the-bill stuff, just because its way overpriced ;)

~80% depending on the game and res isn't enough for ya?

all people think about is POWER POWER POWER, I WANT MORE DAMN POWER!!!!!!!!

when did people forget about efficiency....

So whats the difference? Speed on the other hand..

I like AMD as well, but it's to bad people think theres a noticable difference between Intel & AMD when used in high end gaming systems though. It must suck to be stuck with a crappy Intel at 215fps when you could have 230. :)
