The X850XT PE has a higher clcok speed, and I believe about the same amount of pixel pipelines as teh 7800GTX. Only thing nVidia has on ATi right now is SLI, and Crossfire is gonna blow that away.

We all know how much that matters.

Heh the XTPE has 4 quads while the GTX packs 6. :)

Ive been happy with nvidia for a few years now. the reason i started with them in the first place is their advertizing campeign. those awsome pictures are awsome and made me want to get it and im guessing im not the only one who fell for nvidia bcuz of that..

Meh.. i want to see reviews first.
big talk,.. but nothing proven.
and.. Nvidia has the 7800ULTRA at hand. 32 pixel pipelines.
imagine 2 of those in SLI.

( and if you dont have 2 the same cards in crossfire, both cards will run like the slowest one. so still not really an advantage.)

WOW!!!! X1s from ATi just came out
"This allows ATI to achieve a relatively high GPU clock speed of 625MHz, nearly 200MHz faster than a standard Geforce 7800 GTX. The card also uses 512MB of GDDR3 memory running at an effective 1.5GHz."

Clock speed doesn't mean that much, the 8 extra pixel pipes on the 7800GTX more than negate it.

You would think what wee have learned about Intel's clock speeds and AMD's lower but still competing clock speeds would make it obvious. It's *almost* the same ideaology. But fanboyism clouds even the most educated of minds lol.

well.. the pipelins are the ammount of pixels a card can spit out per clock.
the x1800 has a much higher clock frequentie as the 7800GTX.
so t should actually even up.
there isnt a bottleneck because of 16 pipelines

i still am going for nivida even tho the new ati looks impressive i still cant say anything till the official benchmarks are confirmed

200MHz vs 8 extra pipes. It doesn't add up. There's nothing wrong with the ATi cards and if they are cheaper than nVidia when I buy a new card I'll get one, but right now the 7800 is still better.
