WOW!!!! X1s from ATi just came out
"This allows ATI to achieve a relatively high GPU clock speed of 625MHz, nearly 200MHz faster than a standard Geforce 7800 GTX. The card also uses 512MB of GDDR3 memory running at an effective 1.5GHz."

don't forget that X1800 xt came 6 months late :)

I first had nVidia GeForce FX 5200, then I got ATI Radeon 9250, which had crappy Pixel Shaders and had no big difference to my first GPU then finally I got the nVidia GeForce 6600 which is fantastic.

PS. All three GPUs were with 256MB DDR

Damn, that X1 sounds heavy. And expensive...

Just don't forget who brought the next-generation Graphics Card first. Nvidia did... as usual!

it's as simple as this for choosing which video card to get:

Windows: ATi
Linux: nVidia

(but get an nForce chipset regardless)

Well, I was going to ask why on earth the OS matters...but noticed you were banned. u r the FreeBSD freak lol

It makes some sense. You wont find much D3D on a Linux machine which is where ATi takes an easy lead but you will find a lot of OpenGL.

Hmm, that does make sense. I was thinking to general, they both work. But nVidia has the edge since ATi's strong points aren't as functional on that OS, i see.

Creative 3Dlabs wildcat realizm 800
Max resalution in 60Hz is 3840 x 2400
16x PCI Express
640MB GDDR3 total memory

Is that the card you use?

I guess your into CAD & DCC then.

nvidia, my geforce mx4 plays half life 2 perfectly.....
also nvidia is a CAL and CPL sponsor so i love them even more ;)

MX 420... shudders... Upgrading from that to a 7800GT was just like insane for me... in a good way :D Can you say 10 x the processing power?

Yeah, I choose nvidia, ATI seems to be a bit behind on the high end segment today, but 2 years ago I would have said the oppisote, the 9800 pro kicked the FX 5950's ass.

the fx 5xxx series are the most unsucesfull video cards nvidia ever made, i mean in graphics

y do u guys keep talking about this
it is stupid i mean they are both good comp. and they both have there good points and there bad points

ill use both but it depends onthe time i mean like nvidia is good now but ati might be better a little down the road

lol and just 3 weeks ago i owned one. I have to say but the x850pro have impressed me very much. It gave me eight times the 3dmarks!! from 1100 to ~8500!

It's not fighting...it's a debate. There is no wrong answer, unless you can't backup what you jsut said.
