damn you!
im pretty sure the XBOX 360 at 1080p only gets 30 or 40FPS, my friend played it once like that, oooo wow... 72in tv, omg... sooooooo pretty, it was like looking through a window outside. With demons.

I played Oblivion with my friends 360 on my 50" LCD, and I have to say it looked good, but not great. First, Oblivion runs at 720p (the 360 can't dispay 1080p, only 1080i). Second, with that much screen the blurry distant lands textures are PAINFULLY noticeable. Third, it runs at 30FPS max, and it dips down at times when outside.

Its weird. Oblivion takes da **** computer to run it fairly well, but it still doenst look that great. Like Fear to me looks better, and its less demeanding.

Maggot_4_life has a point, but he definitly didnt express his opinions very "maturely":P

Sry, but I have a 12y/o little bro and all he does is talk like that in RL... then I try to get some peace by gaming online and all I hear is whiney little kids...

Also, on the topic of the 7950's, does anyone know when the Final (a.k.a. stable) patches will be out? Has nVidia released any info on that?

FEAR look great because most of the game is in shadow and all that really made it realistic was good shadows and awesome bump mapping, theres nothing really hard since most levels are industrial-like nothing to really go to extremes to try and get right. Bethesda had to try and emulate a living, breathing, natural world. Everything had to look normal since in the bright light of the Oblivion sun, any graphical artifact would stick out like a sore thumb.

More on topic: The only thing I want to ALWAYS have on Oblivion is to keep the view distance as far as possible and "Distant Lands" on, the fog effect looks horrible, I love look out into the horizon and seeing mountain ranges....not fog. I've tweaked Oblivion to the point where I can stay at a comfortable and very playable framerate and the graphics look great.

The distant land is definately sweet, but the textures should have been a higher rez. You can edit it in the setup file, but it really screws up performance.

just as an update: boss was playing around with hardware as usual, has 3x X1950XTX's two in crossfire and one for PhysX.... paired with the X6800 and 4GB DDR2-1066.... he says the game plays fine for him.... i wanna go pay him a visit soon :D

I'd sure hope it'd play "fine". With that much power "flawlessly" would be more accurate.

for PhysX...doesnt that mean he needs 3 pci-e slots?

same reason i overclocked the FX-62.... cause i could

I really wonder tough... if you had a FX-62 pc.. with 2 7950.. why you're still having the 4000+ and 6800GS in your sig?
i mean, the FX-62 and 7950's are mainly bought by people who want to showoff a low,.. so i don't really get the logic of it atm.. :P
