Wasnt 3D-Labs the original graphics card manufactures / game makers type company

3D Labs makes workstation cards and they've been at the game for a long time. The other big names are Oxygen/VL and to a lesser degree, Matrox. ATI and nVidia both have their workstation cards too the FireGl and Quaddro lines. What you're thinking of is 3dFX

If im not mistaken, nVidia bought out 3dfx but regardless its interesting to see SLI make a comeback after all these years
