Dell and NVIDIA showcase first Quad SLI system

OMFG a QUAD SLI!!!! thast 4!! 4 7800gtx 512mb's!!!!!!!!!!!
but big downside for me was its a DELL... an Intel for the CPU, and the case isnt all that great... they could have done beter...but,.. its still amazing!.
The video card subsystem is quite astounding - there is over 41 gigapixels per second of fill rate, 96 pixel pipelines, 32 vertex shaders and 2GB of dedicated graphics memory. As for clock speeds, each of the four GPUs will be clocked at 430MHz - we're not sure of how fast the memory is running at, but we're suspecting that they'll run at 1200MHz - the reference GeForce 7800 GTX 256 clocks.

We have no doubts in saying that this machine will be able to enjoy every game out there at the native 2560x1600 resolution of the new Dell 3007WFP monitor. In addition to this, NVIDIA is launching a new 32x SLI Anti-Aliasing mode for this system - many games will be CPU limited enough to make use of these unheard of Anti-Aliasing levels.
omfg! A-MAZING!

its probably ganna cost like $8000 b/c its probably ganna have 4gb of RAM and like 500gb, maby even a Tb of HD space..or those 15000rpm HDD..
who knows?!?!?!?!

Crazy shit... I doubt we'll see it, though... A dell with that much power??
ya i kno. and i dont think that case will be sufficient to cooling that system..it would need tons of fans or very expensive water cooling. which dell hasnt done...
Hehe , i seen on tomshardware the Gigabytre quad sli , but only 2 cards works together....
ya i have seen that too, but this one is a true quad sli:P lol

ow , thats diffenrent , seems awesome anyway... why they are doubling everything?
2 memory stick
2 cores on cpus
2 video cards
2 hard drive(raid)

now they will quadruple em?
4 memory sticks
2x2cores cpuu
4 video cards
then 4 raid hdd? :P

lol hahahaha...they could do that..4 mem sticks...1gb each or if they wanna overkill then 2gb each  !!
well they didnt go 2x2 CPU cores but they did go 4.26ghz lol

Alright so if this is the true QUAD-Set up does that mean 3.7x the power of 1 gpu? or is it just running off 1.9x the power of a single gpu with 4x the memory?

lol..there's the same amount of dedicated video memory as there are to system memory. srry if someone said that already, didn't ahve time to read the entire thread.

damit!!!just baught a new computer...for a shirt time thought it was the best(compared to most people) and now they comeout with this...if i was to buy this new one(quad) what the hell am i going to do with the old one...
and is it even worth buying it? maybe in a mounth or two they will comeup with something that will be even more extreme...

32x SLI Anti-Aliasing mode
Holy siht.......

*EDIT* - just read all of that in bit tech and its a one of a kind paintjob, that is truly amazing and i would actually be willing to kill for it. Overclocked to 4.26Ghz too, veeeerrrrrrrry nice

Another question is do the cards just have to be SLI-Ready or QuadSLI-Ready?
probably just SLI ready, it should come with one (different) bridge that connects all four (im guessing though).
that would make sense.

You should've known that when you build a new pc the next best thing will be out in about 2-3 months. Anyways your comps a beast so dont worry about it....I dont think anyone on this forum will have a quad-sli set-up for quite a while anyways.

Don't build a new computer, just sell some of the parts and keep some and upgrade.
