wo wo wooo, people calm down please...... i think people are getting a bit confused with what other people have said

To geoff -- those temps are perfectly viable with your cooling solution but as praetor is trying to say this ISNT stock cooling

To praetor -- chill man, everyones just a bit confused as to who said what and what they meant by it.... and calling geoff stupid was a bit harsh, to be one of the top posters and not be banned requires knowledge.... no??

To everyone else - SUMMARY - geoff has a CPU idle temp of 6 C this is due to an intake of far below 0 C this is perfectly viable and has been proved (whether to be believed or not is your own decision). However, geoff is no longer on stock cooling, it was stock until this mod was carried out, now its a modded stock cooling solution.

I hope this clears a few thigns up for those who are confused.

1. I didnt call him stupid per se.... if you check out my wording ... it was purely conditional on him not interpreting my posts (i.e., "if by now you dont understand .... then... stupid"). As i think it should be clear by now (and as confirmed by your own post), i dont necesarily have a problem with his temps (although I dispute his pre-moded-temps of 20C with numerous counter exampls as shown in my above posts), my complaint, as recognized by you, is that he was misleading reader by claming it was "stock cooling".

2. Post count doesnt mean jack and has little to no bearing on getting banned or not.

3. Congrats on being the diplo :)

ok, i have a question thats kinda on topic:

will a temp that low actually increase performance by a significant amount? im sure it helps out a little bit, but how much? is it worth keeping your room at an ungodly low temp praetor?

and do you have to wear gloves to keep warm:P. and wouldnt that interfere with using the mouse?:P. (just ignore these two.)lol;)

That sounds like what you said in a previous thread, about being able to upgrade from an AMD to a P4 without changing motherboards, the casual reader may think that his motherboard can do that when in fact its only a select few that can ;)

I may be getting 5C temps, i may not be. When i first hooked up my motherboard and installed windows, it was around 18-20C, which was only a few degrees warmer then my room. So the temp sensors may be messed up or just off by a few degrees.

Lastly, i dont want to get into an argument, so if we can just drop this whole sub-zero cooling thing. I also took it down this morning, since after installing i've been getting network errors and my hard drive is acting up.

Only difference is that what I said was correect (i.e. you CAN do it) while what you said was not (i.e., you DONT have stock cooling). Your point is made though :)

Neither do I, but have a serious look at the links i posted originally and then maybe take your readings with a grain of salt :)
