I cant get a OS to start the install, Im stuck on the entrance to the BIOs, I see its recognized the HDD,Memory,DVD and I can go into bios and change settings which I set the CDROM to priority and 1st boot. any ideas guys or am I over looking the obvious

Hey bluecity,

Well, in that case...

Do you get an error message? Or does it just behave as if there's no disc in there?

Have you tried the DVD drive in another computer? Or another CD drive in the new computer? That simple test would tell us a lot.

Is the DVD drive brand new? In that case, likely DOA.

Have you tried unplugging every drive except the DVD drive?

Also - you said you tried three discs - were they straight from the vendor, or were they burned? If they are burned, it's possible that the drive doesn't recognize the media, or that they weren't burned properly for whatever reason.

If the BIOS can see the DVD drive, and you've set it up to boot from that drive, then it seems to me it must be a problem with the drive or the media...

But I've been wrong before... once... a looong time ago... :P

Please post back...

The Solution

You just have to press F1 to continue...OS installed with just one hitch, You have to press F1 on every restart:rolleyes: So you have to go into the BIOs and find (Halt On) press enter then choose (No Errors) save and exit...I wish somebody would delete this thread, Im getting old and must need glasses

Thank you for your replys there allways much appreciated!!!

That's friggin' hilarious...

:D :D :D

Hey, at least you didn't start sending parts back or take the computer to a shop. That would have been a whole other level of embarrassing!

Glad you got it worked out.

If you are getting the F1 to resume error then you most likely have a motherboard or hardware issue. You should not be seeing that unless you have an error.
