You bump the FSB by 10mhz at a time, then stress test it (Use Prime95 - run for 2 hours or more on the torture test). once it becomes unstable, you increase the voltage one notch in the bios. if it still isn't stable try another voltage bump. with 45nm you really don't want to go above 1.35v because of the heat. my 65nm E4500 is at 1.4v but smaller/newer chips can't handle as much voltage

I decided to OC my E7400. So I found a setting that worked for someone else and I'm working off that. I've tried bumping in the past but this time it's nice to have a starting point. So, I'm gonna set volts to a comfortable (but high) setting, keep multiplier high and fsb low, stress test and check the temps, then lower volts to find the lowest stable settings.
Basically, I jumped to 1333 Mhz because it's know to be safe with my mobo, and I kept multi at 10.5. This gave me an instant 3.5 Ghz (25% increase

) - (Keep in mind I'm cooling with a nice big aftermarket heatsink (air) in a very cool case). I then pushed my voltages to the highest comfortable level to check for stability - vcore 1.35, fsb volt & NB volt up to max grey setting (stay below the red zone). Also, RAM is set to 1T and 1.9v.
This is proven stable with 1hr OCCT Med test [EDIT: correction
Linpack test, not Med test] and 6.5 hrs Orthos Small FFTs. :good: Max temps for OCCT were 60-64C and Orthos were 50-54C. not too shabby, and it can only get cooler from here.
Now I'm gonna start backing down the vcore until lowest stable is found, followed by fsb volt and NB volt.
