P4S8X and Radeon HD 2600 XT

Assuming you are talking about the AGP version of the 2600XT, then yes it will work since that motherboard has an 8x AGP slot. However, they do require a 6-pin PCI-E power connector in addition, but it should come with an adapter if you do not have one available.

The only thing you really need to worry about is if your power supply can handle it or not.

So that the fact that some MB's can't take a certain voltage or something like that is not an issue here?
Are you referring to the voltage on the different AGP slots? If so then yes that does make a difference, and the card will only work with one type of slot - the AGP 4x/8x slot.

Well since I have the AGP 4x/8x slot, there should be no problems. I have a 450W PSU, is that enough for this video card?

Is this a good card to improve gaming performance? I currently have a Nvidia 6800GT, but for some scenery items in Flight Simulator 2004, it is lacking...

I would just recommend upgrading the mobo to one that has PCI Express 16 and get a higher wattage PSU.

You get alot more choices and such with PCI Express 16 and alot of cards you will find cheaper than AGP for the same card.

So this is not an issue here...

"Make sure when you are using a newer agp card in an older mobo that the agp card voltage is not to much for your mobo. It will trash your mobo before you know it." (from TigerDirect.com product review)

You can't always believe what reviews say, he's probably referring to using the 2600XT in a different AGP slot, such as 2x/4x, which does use a different voltage.

Since I have installed the new video card, the computer has become very stuttery in its normal operation. Could this be a sign that I need a more powerful power supply? I believe that this card may require a daul-rail PSU. Could someone verify this and describe what it means?
