How does PC plan on keeping up with next gen consoles in term of memory usage? I understand that a octacore 4.0ghz pc cpu will outperform a PS4 cpu 2:1, but how do pc component manufactures plan on keeping up with 8GB of shared GGDR5 memory? Essentially PS4's could utilize 7GB of that shared RAM into GPU memory. To my knowledge, GPU RAM doesn't exceed 6GB on commercial video cards, which still cost over a grand. Is this the first time we may see consoles out performing desktop PC's in terms of texture rendering?
