What's up Computer Forum?
So I have this board I got out of a junked computer I bought from a lady because I wanted the monitor - it only cost me $50. The motherboard had 5 swollen capacitors and wouldn't even turn on.
I had some free time yesterday, so I replaced the bad caps. The board works great now, but the processor (Pentium 4 631 - 3.00GHz) is running at around 67°C according to BIOS. Speedfan won't recognize the sensors, nor will PC Wizard. It seems to be running great, but that temp is way too hot for my liking...
I've tried reseating the heatsink several times - it's brand new and so is the fan, and I've applied the Arctic Silver the same way I always do. Even pressing the HS onto the proc with my hands to ensure full contact produces the same temp.
What do you guys think could be wrong with it? Is it alright to leave it running at that temp if it doesn't get any hotter? The fan doesn't seem to kick into overdrive unless I'm running the Windows 7 System Assessment Test.
