B. find a new laptop and customize it( currently looking through a few that Brant gave me) i would like to avoid dell if possible so anything else at a good price with good quality let me know

Also wanna know how harddrive's differ right now here's what i know
i need :
Widescreen
nvidia 7600 + video car
1 gig + memory
best screen available for company
* dual core 2 processor(2.0 im thinking)<--- ? fastest = good ? or will a lower one due
* ~ Hard drive ~ <--- No idea what i need... it ranges from 40-200 and people dont usally get 200 so im wondering what is sufficient ? is 200 really needed
Cd burner mabe a double layer is a +
webcam,mic, and nice chassy are a +
anything else you can add ?

I have a 60gig hard drive with over 500 techno tunes, 10 games, programs like Photoshop, Corel Draw, DJ mixing software, 6 different scanners to keep your computer clean, and dozens of other small programs. All this is only using 37gigs. So if your not going to be storing huge video files, or loading up 5,000 tune, or 100 games, You will have plenty of space with a 60 or 80gig hard drive.

The C2D is the best processor on the market, and you can go slower then the 2.0Ghz, the 1.83Ghz model T5600 is still an excellent choice.

I would strongly suggest 2gigs of memory especially if you do multi tasking, but seeing you are on a budget you could go with the 1gig of ram for now, and later on when you have some spare cash 6 months from now or whatever you could add another 1gig stick. Or if it works fine, just leave it with the 1gig ram.

So the Sony configured this way will put you in your budget range:

15.4" WXGA TFT with XBRITE-HiColor Technology and MOTION EYE Camera
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600 / ICD 1.83 GHz
1 GB DDR-SDRAM (DDR2-533, 1 GBx1) Windows Vista Premium Ready
80 GB Hard Disk Drive
DVD+-R DL_DVD+-RW_DVD-RAM Drive

Grand total $1279.99

Also check out some of these Asus notebooks. They have a huge line up.

EDIT: there are many other computers out there besides Sony with the configuration you want, but are slightly more, so if you decide to go with the Sony make sure you don’t configure it with the 2(512) sticks but rather the 1gig stick so you can upgrade to the 2 gigs later if you decide.

thnx for all the help man,ima stick to the bigger harddrives if thats the case... a few months ago i had like 8k songs and 10+ movies and some pic's so an 80-100 might do it but ill play it on the safe side, ill stick to the higher mghz processor's(1.8-2.0) price isnt strict around 1300 i can go on upward's of 1500-1600 if needed i'd just perfer not to waste 1600 when i can get the same thing for 1300.... ive checked out some of the asus notbook's i dont really like any of the ones under 1500 so if i go that high i think ima go with sony( i dont like asus computer's either ) my brother has one and it sounds like a vacume hes got like 4 hd's in it and who know's what else( my dad has a friend who makes computer's )i know asus products are really good,( but if the computer is loud then in a laptop that would probably be heat) and with all the sound my bro's comp makes i think a laptop would be onfire lol

ok so overall this is what i have so far

100+ Hd ( higher the better )
7600 + video card
1 gig of memory( ill get another gig later as suggested )
Core 2 duo 1.8-2.0
Good screen( this is one of the issue's with hp )
Cd burner ( the thing that burns pic's on the top is a +)'
Nice looking laptop( i dont perfer an all silver one )

yea so far those are the spec's im intrested in ima start looking for a few more options within those bound's. then ill get a final list of option's from diffrent company's and compare them and ill get a laptop sometime next month :D

looked around a bit and the brands im intrested in so far are : Dell Sony Hp and Gatway ill put spec's for each system and price's up later

Dell likes to give a special deal each week. Sometimes, Dell gives free upgrade to 2GB RAM, like my new laptop. I got a free upgrade from 1GB to 2GB Dual Channel DDR2, which is really awesome.
