I think he was quoting me saying that I'd added the light's glow in post.

If post processing helps give your image the desired effect, then edit to your heart's desire. These themes should be open to interpretation, so as long as you think that your picture fits, then that's good enough for me. Post processing is just another aspect of 21st century digital photography, I think that it's better to embrace the change and take advantage of it as opposed to whining that it's "too different" than the original image.
