Please help fast Geforce 9800GTX+

Hello, I have just been on that website.

Does that mean on a 12V rail i will get 38Amps????

That's not exactly how you add up the rails (I forgot the exact calculation), but I do believe it will power your system. For twenty bucks more, though, I'd go with the OCZ unit I posted from ebuyer. Then you wouldn't have to bother with adapters and it's a better manufactured unit.

Also it says this "4 Pin Molex to 8(4+4) pin +12V Powr Adaptor x 1".

Is this the 8pin beast I am looking for?

No, I think that's for the P8 connection to the mobo.

If I was to purchase the one £20 cheaper than the OCZ(forgot the name), I take it I would need a molex to 6 pin PCIE, because it comes with a 6pin pcie already.

Also, this might sound silly but physically will the wires reach from the PSU to the graphics card? (I'm new to this)

It would be best to get a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter, not a molex adapter. The female end would plug into the 6 pin cable from the PSU; the 8 pin male end would plug into the video card.

Well, your PSU is either mounted on the top or bottom of the case. Either way, it should reach, and if you're using an adapter, that will give you even more length, so I wouldn't worry about that.

the cord reaching the video card is the least of your worries, the parts that might not reach (rarely) is the dvd drive if its on top and your psu is on bottom, or the P8 connection. but the odds of the cords being too short are very very small.

Thanks,

I suppose you wouldnt know any shop in the UK which sells 6 To 8 Pin PCI-E Adapters, I have tried looking myself and found loads of American websites.

Dude, I'd get the new PSU, plug in the six pin connection and see if it works. If it doesn't, then get an adapter. I'm suprised they shipped this card with only an 8 pin connection. I had a 9800 GTX+ for a couple weeks (an EVGA model), but I don't remember which connections were required. :P

Really, the best soulution is to get the OCZ model or something better. Save for it if you have to.

Yeah that would be pretty close. 9800GTX+ is something like 24 Amps minimum for the total average system. Dont realy know what they think the average is though:confused:. Probable a nonoverclocked CPU/One Harddrive/One DVD/Burner blah blah blah. Just the basic system I guess.

The HEC unit would power the video card, I think, but it is a bit of a strech.

OOh is it going to be tight enough it might not work?

If it is, do you think there will be a another one around the same price that'll work
