Post your 8 series temps

That's one of the reasons I didn't buy the 8800GT, is that, air isn't exhausted out of the case, it's just circulated around...

I'd see if you could put a fan blowing onto the card, from the front (like at the PCI-e Connector), Then see if you can hook a fan to blow air out through the back of some spare PCI slots at the back. Make sense?

That would not work with a enclosed 8800GT. The fan sucks air into the card and comes it out of the back of the card. If you put a fan blowing at the backend of the card where the PCIe connector is it would really be blowing the hot air from the card back into it. And a PCI slot cooler fan sucks in and blows out through the slot, so its fan would be fighting the 8800GT fan for air. Good idea but the air flow is all wrong. The best for a 8800GT is a fan at the bottom of the case blowing fresh air straight into the fan of the card or a lower to the left side intake fan.

With the fan locked at 29%, my 8800GT idles around 50 and gets up to around 80. With the auto fan speed, it never goes above 65ish, but does get really loud.

ok my temps are currently

90-chipset or whatever its called
82-vram
65-pcb

now ill mount the fan on the vent blowing at the 8800gt and see how it goes

ok after mounting an 80mm fan on the vent directy opposite to where the card exhausts the hot air.. the temps are all about 1 degree less. which sucks.

im gonna start a thread asking for help haha. instead of jacking this one

I have the same card and my temps are:

46-54C Idle

64-70C Load

I think its because my Dell case is BTX so the HSF is drawing hot air from my Netburst room heater (see sig) instead of drawing cool air from the bottom of the case. Eh, can't change that I guess.

Yeah I hate stock cases. Im running a stock HP case right now but, there is a bunch of case fans on it that I added. 6 fans total.

Zotac 8800gt @ 660/1000mhz

idle 45-50*C
load 55-65*C

i like my 8800gt but i hate the temps. i wish i would have got evga's dual slot version.
