Pretty radical mod idea..

Alright so I was thinking...

What if I were to find a really small monitor possibly 10" or even smaller, which is a touch screen, and then cut a hole in my case and stick it in?

Just as a secondary monitor, showing the same thing as the main monitor...

Would anyone know if this would cause any serious Airflow problems?

Also does anyone know of a touch screen monitor that's less then 10"?

Also it would be great if people could brain storm some ideas about what restrictions I have...

Lol that a great idea... but it generates alot heat! same with how your going to connect it to the video card? and what about the power? and i doubt thattheres a less than 10" monitor ... unless you maybe somehow modify those b&w 5-8" TVs or something =) =D

A CRT TV would not fit in his case...
As for the touch screen, they're nothing more than a regular monitor with a touch-sensitive covering. If you do some research you might be able to find the coverings, etc. Good luck.

Hmm it looks like that might not work then...

But what if I were to use two 5.25" Drive bays? is there anything like this now?

might be... but you may need more case fans or water cooling if yuo really want it... i cant find a 10" lcd on there.. but there are 10" DVD players and stuff... if you can somehow change the wires or smoething... ubt it will still cause alot of heat

I don't really care about the touch screen anymore, but I am still having trouble finding a 5" monitor?

There has been mods where people installed touchscreen monitors into the front drive bays, and it does work. However, like others side, a 10" monitor would generate some heat, so you'll probably need to add some powerful fans in order to balance that out.

or watercooling... and if your overclocking this system your temps im esimating could go up 5c+

Sorry for double posting but when I clicked post The Beast did too so:

the temps can go to a max of 40C... which means your CPU may fry if your not careful...

then it says if its improperly disconnected then it can seriously damage it... im guessing it may damage your vide card and PSU maybe?

and it also says that it can be powered from a PSU... so your PSU will have to be pretty effiencient

EDIT: and now that I see the prices that firsttimebuilder has put on... i dont things its going to be really cheap either

Hmm, I have looked over these and I am trying to understand if it is even possible to fit any of them into 2 5.25" drive bays?

Does anyone have any idea of how big a 5.25" drive bay is? I am thinking I may now have to use 3...

I don't know about that one, does anyone know if I would be able to use it in a computer instead of a car? and also how will I plug it in, would I be using my power supply to power it or would I use a AC plug?

That looks like the ideal one because of it's small size, but I still need to figure out how big of a monitor I will be able to use...

I don't know about this one but it looks cool...

5c is nothing at all. my computer varies that much when it gets hot in my room. that WILL NOT damage the parts because the touchscreen itself it doesnt heat up any more then the proc does on its own! so if the proc can handle the temps its already seeing, it should have no problem handling more of the same!
