I have a asus a8n sli deluxe board with amd 3400+ 7600gt, 2 HD's, and cd. I recently changed cases and somehow managed to wire the power buttons incorrectly, but the system still worked for some reason.
Anyway, the thing is, there was a minor storm, and apparently my xclio psu decided to call it quits after ive had it for maybe 3 years. So im hesitant to go with that brand again (though it was a recommended pick from psu 101).
I used an emachines psu to test my board, so that worked (somehow emachines beats the supposedly good stuff).
What I dont understand is, i used two emachines psu, both with 20 pin connectors (my board has a slot for 24, but one of the psu's worked, the other just caused the green light on my board to flash?
Anyway, I'd like a cheap but quality psu that wont blow out on me any time too soon. Ive check the recommendations list, but its a bit out of date. Thanks
