So I just upgraded to a Q6600 G0 and I am not shocked that the stock heatsink sucks. Though I blame the push pin design for some of the heat.
1.325v VID @ 2.4ghz going to do a small OC to 333x9 if the temps are good will jump to 3.2ghz. I don't need more then that out of this chip
So Temps Currently @ 1.325v in a 21c room I am running idle @ 38-36-33-35 highload of 100% it goes past 60c in under 10 mins and doesn't seem to stop casual gaming 50c or so. AS5 25 hours into break in.
So I need a cooler and the issue I have is clearance of the chipsets

Now the case I use is this...got it for free so I can't complain much.

I was thinking of grabbing the XIGMATEK since from reviews and the price of the TT and Zalman seem to be close to the same performance.
I am just doing a modest increase of 333x9 since I don't need 3.6ghz from my processor plus my room hits 30c - 32c during the summer.
SO the questions would be.
1. Will it hit my heat sink forcing me to turn it sideways so the fan is no longer hitting the back of my PC.
2. Is it worth it or should I fork out for the 9700 or TT120?
3. I read a few reviews stating the kit is made from metal...but if it was shorting the MB wouldn't a lot more people be pissed off vs a the select few?
4. Will it skip the heat sink? Sadly they never tell you how far it sits off the ground.
Also anyone using it care to respond Id love to know your results.
