Reading a new introduction article on www.thetechreport.com on the new Athalon IIx4 955 Processor - they make a referene to the " black edition " of their processor.
I thought pretty much any processor was overclockable if you had the right MOBO. Reading this article - it seems to suggest some CPU's are more or less overclockable than others.
If someone wanted an AMD processor that's overclockable - should they always solely at the " black edition ". OR - are all processors overclockable - more or less - but some are better suited for heat reasons?
Trying to understand " black edition " more and the level of significance it has in evaluating an AMD processor.
Thanks
And since this is a new flagship for AMD, the 955 is a "Black Edition" processor with all of the privileges that title bestows—pretty much just "easy overclocking via an unlocked multiplier," but hey, that's not a bad perk
