If you have a Socket A motherboard do you have to have a socket a processor or doesnt that matter which socket???
That was insightful but yeah, with the given info thats probably all you coulda really sayMost probably a hardware issue.
Translation: damn near anything :SIt could be a defective PSU, a short-circuit on the motherboard, or some defective component. Try to remove the RAM, soundcard, hdd, floppy and cd and see what happens at power on.
