questions on video cards

you loose the ability to daisy chain displays. Otherwise, you can cheap out on your monitor, as 100% of 1080p monitors have DVI. you add more or less $50 to go displayport.

If you ever want to go 3 monitors, save some trouble now and get an active adapter, not passive.

i didnt realize how big that dang graphic card was is there enough room in an atx mid tower for one or do i need to step up to a full tower?

Daisy chaining means using one output to supply signal to multiple devices. to do this with TB or DP, you need a display port 1.2 card, and a the first monitor to have 2 DP connections. Then you just plug up the first cable to the GPU and the first monitor and the second cable from monitor 1 output to monitor 2 input. Personally I would not do it unless you need more than 3 displays, or plan to do different things on each monitor.

Most modern mid tower cases have 11" of clearence. My HAF 912 case has enough room for the HD6970 (same length as a 7970, all other cards are smaller except GX2 type cards), if the HDD bay is removed. Chances are you case is big enough.

just curious if i was wanting to do the daisy chaining if i was working on a project or something can i change the settings from one screen the three?
