I have seen some preliminary benchamrks of the R600, and it blows the 8800GTX away, but that is to be expected because it was released so long after the 8800. It would be interesting to see how nvidia responds.
The first review seen on the Radeon X2000 topped the 8800 series as well as blowing away the NVidia 7900 and Radeon X1900 series cards alike. The X2900 looks even more inviting.![]()
ATI will have quite a few new models coming out. The latest information seen on the newer 12" long cards dated for march 30th is seen at http://trackingamd.blogspot.com/search/label/R600 The X2600 lineup will be in the mid range catagory priced around $150US with the X2800 models around $200. That's quite a change from seeing cards at $500+.

The release date for R600 is May, not March and it will be named as X2900, not X2800. The price of X2900 the card will not be at $200http://
