[Radeon X800-GTO] or [Radeon X1600-XT] ?

don't ever get 1600xt.

and x800 series are quite old ay?
might as well get x850 series for like additional $30 or so. much better choice.

but remember x1600xt is card that was made to trick people into thinking that since its 1xxx series it might be better.
but infact it is the worst kind you can get, scores less than 3000 on 3D Mark 05
compared to my x850 scores almost 7000 in 3D mark 05.

Hmm, you might want to do a little reading up on the reviews (by real testers) on the x1800 and x1900 series. As for the x1600xt, guess it would depend on what you are comparing it against. Again, if the card doesn't support Shader 3.0, then it is old news..period. Now this is spoken from the gamer point of view. If the cards are going to be used for normal use, then by all means, there is nothing wrong with the older cards.

pipes can only be unlocked in sapphire x800gto2 version (limited edition), if it doesnt have "2" in the name it cannot be unlocked (there is nothing to unlock)

If you HAVE to choose between the two, get the .... I don't know, probably the Powercolor X800GTO with 16 pixel pipelines. The thing is the two cards are so close it's hard to tell. I still suggest the Evga 6800GS Co card for 155 on Newegg after rebate.

x800gto2 with 16pp scores around 5000 in 3dmark05, after its OC'ed (500/1200) u can get around 6500.

if you wanna buy x800gto2 get the RED one (sapphire), DON'T BUY A BLUE CARD CUZ ITS A BAD OVERCLOCKER (gpu only, cuz its r430)
