RAM Speed and Blue screen

starting with my computer build:
CPU: Intel Q9550 Quad core @2.83GHz
VGA: ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB
RAM: DDR2-667 2 x2GB
POWER: 650W
OS: Windows XP SP3 32bit



this problem bothers me for few years; whenever I use my computer for high-grade gaming (FPS mostly), my computer randomly restart / blue screen.

at first I thought it was my graphic card, so I replace it with a 1GB VGA. but sadly, the error still occurs.

recently, I checked my motherboard manual:

Memory support
4 DDR2 DIMMs suport DDR2 1200(OC) / 1066 / 800

could it be the cause of computer failure? unmatched RAM speed?

this problem frustrates me for years, I couldn't figure out the cause of the problem, after I waste the money on replacing the VGA, i feel thwarted.

I was like, "will it be the motherboard bus? bad power supply flow / lack of power? bad plug connection of the component part? overheating?"

and I don't feel like spending hundreds of dollar on computer checkup at bestbuy or anywhere, so I was hoping to get some valuable advise from expert in here.

I'm a little surprised this didn't cause more problems than it has... That very well could be the problem. Try to buy one stick from a local store so it's easy to take back. Put it in the first slot and see if it runs completely, then either go buy another one or take it back and buy from somewhere like newegg (get the 1066, and I would go for 4gbs), or if it doesn't work, take it back.

If that doesn't fix it, it might be a bad PSU.

No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.
