re-installing window XP

I'm still getting Blue Screen last night , My OS is ligitimate I bought this computer in Dell. When I mean "Validity of OS" Microsoft is checking my system if my OS is ligitimate or not . About the Blue Screen is the same problem I was getting, and I had another question to ask after I installed the OS it takes a long time to starup the computer I did miscofig and change the starup uncheked all that is not necessary to sart up. But when i open it takes for the computer to start? Yes, I did the updated the chipset driver download and installed it .

Are you still getting the same Stop code on that Blue Screen? ( STOP: 0X0000000D1)
Or is it different?

First of all, please disregard the notes earlier about disabling BIOS caching. This is not the problem. If you are getting the same stop code, then your trouble lies with a bad driver. Please visit Dell's website to download and install all current drivers for your specific computer, not just the chipset driver. Everything. Also, update to Service Pack 3. After that, let us know if you are still getting the BSOD.

Have you been getting the BSOD when in Safe Mode?

What did you change in msconfig??

i did change my miscofig- unchecked: Qtask(quick time), Acrotray(acrobat), Gam OSD(graphic cards), NMbg monitor, BrMfcWnd(printer), Brctcen(printer), CtlMgr(creative webcam), Google desk, Index search, itunehelper, Nerocheck, Ppt40(printer) BrstDvPt(printer), SsBkdupdate(don't what's that?) CLI start(graphic cards) Ati Tech (graphic cards- I know I removed the driver in add/remove control panel and installed my Asus graphic Card driver), jusched(java)Adobeinst, Gamma loader, winzipquickpick, limewire on startup, worldweb.

I left with check in it:

ehtray, stsysra.exe, winssnotify, dump repo-k, ctfmon

i was not able to see when the blue screen come's up sorry for that. maybe the same stuff last time. I will download and install the Dell driver and see what's happening again , thanks.

No problem. :)

SsBkdupdate is the background updater process used by a ScanSoft program on your computer. You should be fine without it loading.

You may also want to go through and uninstall all the Dell shovelware junk while you are at it. ;)

I am referring to all the extra programs and demo software that Dell may have put on along with the OS install. This is pretty common practice, but Dell isn't nearly as bad as some other manufacturers - especially these days.

As of now my computer is working fine not sure yet until tonight I will tell you what's happening. I did download all the driver necessary for my computer in Dell. Keep my fingers cross hoping no more blue screen, thanks again. Just it takes me little longer to starup .

It should take you less time to startup with all those programs disabled in msconfig.

I'll tell you tommorrow if there's blue screen and if start up is still not working properly or will take it long I hope not. Thanks again.

As of now there's no blue screen showing up I hope it's ok for good and starting up it's kinda ok for now thanks to all who helped me . I had my other computer ASUS last night same blue screen appeared but I did updated the Bios and hoping there will be no more BSOD coming up. CHEERS!!!
