Realistic graphics

I agree, HL2 (IMO) looks like the most realistic. And the HDR looks nice, but there are a few spots where its just too bright.

Although I dont like to admit it, Half-Life 2 (or any source-engine based game) have the best gfx right now. Although I didnt like HL2 that much, I play CSS (same engine) and it looks sweeeeeeeet! Doom 3 also has an amazing Open-GL heavy engine which creates the best lighting and shadows around.

FEAR is much better than HL2 in terms of graphic

I dont think so, FEAR's gun graphics are terrible, but their environments are good. I think HL2 is the best one overall.

HL2 graphics are not that good

skidude- i have 6600 and i run HL2 at 1024x768 with highest setting, and i run FEAR on 1024x768 with medium setting, and for me FEAR blows up HL2 i terms of graphics. and don't forget that i couldn't run FEAR on highest setting, if u run both games on highest setting, HL2 will not match FEAR graphics in anything

I ran the Demo of FEAR on high, not ultra, but high and I still think HL2 looked better. You ever played lost coast on high??(my PC could barely handle LC on high) take a look:

BTW- Those last 2 shots were taken on medium gfx. so imagine it on ultra

ive seen some shots of that, its looks very nice, i might take a look at that game for myself soon seeing as im a bit of a racing fan.

I have not found that certain spots where too bright with my setup. I think the problem is that most people have their displays a bit brighter then they should.

F.E.A.R

HL2 are good ones too. I would get a screenshot of F.E.A.R but my current pc only plays it on the lowest possible settings. I've seen it on my friend's pc though, very very nice.

Yeah, well you can't expect good picture and look on such a small resolution. Try it on 1900x1600 or 1600x1200 then talk. :D

HL2= High polygon count, realistic textures, mediocore effects
F.E.A.R.= Low polygon count, crappy texture, best effects in the world that make up for it

Thats just MHO, but I think the textures in F.E.A.R suck. Half life 2 feels like your in the real world, F.E.A.R is just cool because of all the sparks and blood and shit, but the immersion factor isnt there as much. I think F.E.A.R's graphics are second to HL2.

The new need for speed game has amazing graphics.
Ya, i have the settings on highest and i get around 38 fps (1024 x 768, but i have shadows turned all the way down. Even with that, there are still shadows on the road and car. You're right, the graphics are amazing.
