SATA Question

yes it is but you might have to move a jumper on the back of the drive to a diffrent position so if you cant get your mobo to recognize your hdd then try the jumper

hi

there is a jumper on the back of the sata drive and you might have to move it so it will be recognized in bios as sata1 it is not a jumper to set slave and master sata drives dont need that (maxtor diamondmax10 sata 2 hdd have such a jumper)

all my maxtor satas and any other brands i have have doesnt have any sort of jumpers. the only problem u might have is if you actually used any of their drivers for sata2 installed on the drive and then trying to use it on a sata1 mobo.

There are spaces for jumpers on the back of the SATA drives.
