Semi-budget concious gaming build

Organization is pert near impossible in it. There is only so much you can do with the limited space. The 24 pin only is still quite tight in there.

I take that second part back, it was awile ago and I mistaken your case with another persons with all the cables rammed in. Sorry.

As for the fan extender, a company cant buy one of every fan and motherboard and see if its long enough, thats not coolmasters fault. For free you can extend the wire. Not to hard. Every build you will encounter at least 1 speedbump, but simple knowledge will get you through it.

I know they can not test every fan. But they can at least test the ones they include in the case. and the fan connectors seem to be in about the same place as most motherboards have them. Middle of motherboard between PCIe x16_1 and the CPU socket.

I am looking to spend around $900 for a pretty good gaming set up, here is the build I have come up with. I am a first time builder so any tips/feedback/suggestions would be helpful!

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
Storage: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB
Optical Drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner

After promos and mail in rebates the total price for this build on newegg comes to $834. What do you guys think?

OK it all looks fine to me, you've chosen some pretty good hardware there.

The GTX 560 Ti is getting old now though, it's still a great card but for about the same sort of price you could get yourself a Radeon HD 7850 which would be faster than a 560 Ti. Do you have any preference for NVIDIA over AMD?

You'll need some sort of CPU cooler if you plan to overclock that 3570K, if you don't want to overclock it then the stock cooler will be fine. This is the cooler I have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186039 cools my overclocked 2500K very nicely.

Not going to say anything about the case or the board, think it's been covered here already.

I was referring to the "Tempest" edition, not the "Source" edition. By the way, thats even worse. So scratch the USB 3.0 from NZXT, and your left with only one pro, black inside and out. The air flow in the NZXT Source is very poor, and doesn't have any features. There should be no reason the get the NZXT Source over the 912, unless your really strapped for cash.

There is also no need to waste the money on the 912. If you don't want the same thing for cheaper, then go for the Corsair 300r. that will definately blow the 912 out of the water. But w/e. Again, if he wants to buy an inferior case, he is free to.

Here's a couple other suggestions on part selection.
7XXX series would run cooler and require less power.
560Ti and 7xxx series system won't use anything near 650w. A quality 550w ps will run a $500 vc. This XFX 550 is only $60 @ checkout + 10mir = $50 making it an outstanding bargain for an oustanding ps and has more than enough reliable amps and power for your system and future upgrades including gpu and headroom. :good:If you want modular the PCPC is also excellent, has 7yr warranty, and the emailed gift card can be used 4th day after purchase if you wanted to use it on another component. Compare

I , as you have, would also get the best parts I could 1st, then see what I had left for a case. The user is the one that looks at it so if thats the one you want, you'll be happy with it. If you chose it for price/functionality, your hdd has some good combos on a few cases that would be an upgrade. My choice out of these would be Cooler Master RC-692A-KKN5.:good: It's packed with features and good @ the $90 let alone the $55 after mir. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCombos.aspx?

With the XFX your not loosing anything while saving $.
With the 692(if you like the esthetics) your gaining a LOT in the case dept, AND 5 bucks.

While maintianing plenty of quality amps and a very nice case upgrade,
the savings could be used towards a cooler perhaps. Or, If the budget is tight, towards the gpu and get the cooler later on. With mir's maybe.

Read it again. It was a statement to put things in perspective. And yes the XFX 550w will run a GTX 680.
