Sory bout question mark apj101, its habit!!:P:P.

I really tought that i would see the oposite reaction to what there has been. My opinion is that Vista was done for pure money, not for customer interests. MS said that they were working on vista for 7 years!! so why the hell do they then bring Vista out and it crap(driver problems, faults, etc).? Surely after 7 years they should have made sure all of that wasnt going to happen??. It is also rumoured that MS actually signed some agreements with somw big hardware companys,, why??--because that way they can make the OS more resource hogging witch means that peope need do buy more expensive componentes to upgrade, and all that means the hardware companys are happy!!. Also how can u work on an OS for 7 years then go and tell everyone that in aprox 2years time they will be bringing out another OS, like cohen said, Windows 7. Why the hell do u work for 7 year on a piece of crap when u know its only gonna last 2 years before something else takes over........i dont understand.

Well thats my opinion and i could go on for ages but i won't loool

Ofcourse, somewhere they gotta get money, right?

Ofcourse, hardware research and development has halted the past 7 years ^.^

well, it does look prettyer. I hear noone complain about a game using more recourses when it looks better. :o (ps: I put no value in rumors :) )

Eventually, they will have to drop support for XP. There is only so much that can be done to the OS to make it current anymore. This is not to say I like Vista; I feel it's terribly bloated and buggy. After using it for a few months, I am having better luck with it on my Fujitsu, but I still feel XP would run much better on it.

Now, only using Vista on my laptop right now, I can't really comment how it is with games and such (Intel x3100 FTW :P) But as one may expect, most reviews tend to point to Vista being slightly slower than XP. Well, I havn't read any recent reviews, but more OS resources = less gaming resources.

I guess what I'm getting at, yes, I feel they should drop the support for XP. However, I feel we should get something better than Vista. Perhaps a stripped down OS without all the additional crap added to it.

Bwah. That's a stupid speculation, Microsoft shouldn't and won't stop supporting Windows XP as it's the best system out at the moment.

XP should be rested when Vienna is produced and agreed to be the best so far.

while vista is obviuly not all that bad anymore, XP should stay on for a while yet...XP still has advantages, less requiremts is one of them

The less requirements doesn't necessary mean its any slower or worse. Its actually faster using more RAM as it keeps programmes loaded for fast loading :)

Yup

Everyone thinks vista is so bad but, im loving it. I do however still use XP in a virtual machine sometimes but, I could care less about support for it anymore. XP has had enough support already. Who said to LOWER the prices? Are you kidding me? Any cheaper and we will be getting it for FREE.

Think about a bit poorer people, that actually need computers to work.
Then think about some people that are not that poor but live in a freaking small country and the prices are too big.

^^ True Oh well Microsoft is stopping XP updates anyways so, whats the point of this thread? It's not like we can stop them.

That's bu****it... Like every speculation you guys hear.
I'm not believing until I hear it from Bill personally! Besides, Gates isn't that stupid to stop supporting the best active Operating System, while only 1 year is dividing us from Windows 7.
Wanna bet-I'll have my XP pro updated regularly.

I have nothing against XP, but I don't see any benefits on it anymore. Even my 850MHz Pentium 3 with 512MB RAM runs Vista Basic at an acceptable speed. Its not slow, but not fast.

It's really interesting seeing how fast do people change their minds.

Just 2 months ago anyone would swear Vista sucks, now ( but still no big differences between the Vista updates ) most of the people claim Vista is great.
And it started happening slowly...and happened so fast!

I'll just suppose you have your own opinion and you really like Vista :D

I know, right? I have to say that I didnt really care for the issues Vista had in the beginning but, now Vista is great. Its not as much of a system hog as people think.

It's only really a system hog issue to people trying to run it on a machine built for win2000/XP, People HAVE got to realise that Vista IS a bigger OS and that as far as hardware is concerned , they have to move with the times to keep up with the rest of the pack !!

You don't get people complaining that Command and conquer doesn't run on their Nvidia MX440 64MB graphics card , because they KNOW the games requirements, People need to READ reviews/advice and run the Vista advisory tool before committing themselves to a system that does NOT live up to their expectations!!
