Smaller Sized Ram?

So I ordered 4Gb of ram from an online retailer and it just arrived. But the sticks themselves aren't as tall as a normal ram stick.

The ram is:
800Mhz DDR2
240 pin

and its made by Kingston.
The model number is:
KVR800D2N6K2

Now I have never seen shorter ram before... I mean it looks like a normal stick except it seems like the rest of the pcb around the chips has been compressed.

Is this just something Kingston has done to save on manufacturing costs? Or is this ram for a different use?

It would be sort of hard for me to find a desktop I can test it in...

Anyone come across this sort of ram before?

Yeah I ordered a computer for my bro for xmas that I built for him... I got some of this RAM, but it gave me Page file errors...so Im sending it back to Ebuyer for a refund. I think mine was just dodgy though... but I didnt trust it from the start! lol

is it the same length as whats in your current computer, because the only other thing i could really think of is laptop ram, but thats shorter in height and length

Yeah, it's not laptop RAM, it is the same length as normal desktop ram but just not as wide or tall depending on the way your looking at it.

Yeah, I think its a pain what they have done, I find the "older" RAM more accessible than the "new" "small" RAM... (old = easier to get in and out!).
